Backpressure Steam Turbine: How to Support the Condensing Steam Turbine Cylinder

The host is operating under overload conditions. When the regulating-stage pressure is abnormal, corresponding analyses should be conducted in conjunction with other critical parameters of the condensing steam turbine, such as vibration, axial displacement, and vacuum.

General users must carefully adjust the operation of condensing steam turbines, as the equipment’s performance depends on user adjustments. To ensure the equipment operates effectively, it is essential to perform proper operations throughout its use. Equipment in the adjustment phase does more work and generates more energy. So, what exactly are the specific regulatory levels?

1. The instrument indication is not allowed.
2. The flow area of a condensing steam turbine decreases due to salt deposition in the flow passages or deformation and damage to the blades.
4. Overloading of the main unit. When the regulating stage pressure is abnormal, corresponding analyses should be conducted in conjunction with other key parameters of the condensing steam turbine, such as vibration, axial displacement, and vacuum.
5. The steam turbine unit’s cylinder supports must be stable and ensure that the cylinder can expand freely without altering its center position.
6. The cylinders are all supported on baseplates. The baseplates are secured to the turbine foundation using anchor bolts. For small power-generation turbine units, a monolithic casting is used as the baseplate; in the case of power turbines, the cylinders are supported on several separate baseplates.
7. The high-pressure cylinder of the steam turbine generator unit is supported on the front bearing pedestal by cat claws (also known as lap claws) that extend from the horizontal flange. It is divided into an upper-cylinder cat-claw support and a lower-cylinder cat-claw support.
The cylinder is one of the components of a back-pressure steam turbine. If the cylinder needs to be supported, it must be handled according to the appropriate procedures during use, and safety precautions must be observed at all times.

The regulating stage of a back-pressure steam turbine functions to enable the equipment to generate more energy during operation while minimizing unnecessary energy consumption as much as possible, thereby effectively protecting the equipment.
